Summary: Waited nearly 40 mins to be seen and my appointment was at 8:30am I was the first patient

My appointment was scheduled for 8:30am, and as far as I was aware, I was the first patient of the day. Despite this, I waited nearly 40 minutes before being seen. I appreciate that delays can sometimes occur, but no explanation was provided, and I found this wait unacceptable, particularly for the first appointment slot of the morning. When I was eventually seen, the consultation lasted approximately five minutes, and I felt that it was rushed and that my concerns were not properly assessed. I explained to the doctor that I believed I may have a trapped nerve in my shoulder, as I have been experiencing pain travelling down my left arm along with numbness in my fingers. Given these symptoms, I expected a more thorough assessment. However, no physical examination or checks were carried out during the appointment. Instead, I was simply advised to attend physiotherapy and was prescribed painkillers. I left the appointment feeling that my symptoms had not been taken seriously and that an adequate assessment had not been performed before a conclusion was reached. The combination of waiting nearly 40 minutes for an appointment and then receiving what felt like a very brief and rushed consultation has left me disappointed with the standard of care I received.
